Funeral services for Delores (Mrs. John) Bellar age 86 of Norfolk formerly of Beemer will be held on Saturday April 1st at 10:30 a.m. at the Beemer Mennonite Church in Beemer, NE. Interment will be in the Beemer Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner and will continue on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church.

Delores passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at St. Joseph's Rehabilitation and Care Center in Norfolk, NE.

Delores Ann (Oswald) Bellar was born to Joe and Anna Oswald, October 4, 1930 on a farm near Wisner, NE. She attended District #7 country school while living on the farm. The family moved to Beemer, where she attended Beemer Public School from 7th grade until graduating in 1948. After high school she went to work at Kuncl Drug Store for 2 years and then at the Farmers Elevator Company as a bookkeeper. She married John R. Bellar in 1954. They were blessed with three boys, John, Jay, and Jeff. They moved to Walthill in 1968 and Pastored an Assembly of God church for 27 years. Delores worked as a teacher aide for 20 years for Walthill Public School. They retired and moved back to Beemer in 1995 and then pastored the Baptist Church for 10 years. She served on the board of the Beemer Senior Center all of those years. She also had a ministry of music, singing at wedding, funerals, and many nursing homes in Northeast Nebraska. They moved to Norfolk in 2012 to be closer to their boys.

“If you are reading this I am in Heaven with Jesus my Savior and Lord because I accepted Hem as my Savior as a young girl in the Mennonite Church. He has never failed me in all of those years. So please prepare yourself to join me someday. Just ask him to save you and He will, and we will meet again.”

Survivors include her husband John R. Bellar of Norfok, sons, John (Taryn) Bellar of Omaha, Jay (Lori) Bellar of Battle Creek, Jeff (Lorrie) Bellar of Norfolk. 10 Grandchilden and 4 Great Grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister Marie Eichelberger of Beemer, brother and spouse Marvin and Eunice Oswald of Allen, NE, Merlin and Betty Oswald of Beemer.

Preceding Delores in death were her parents, brothers, sisters and their spouses, Elmer and Doris Oswald, Ella and Joe Ehrisman, Mildred and Vernon White and Harold Eichelberger.
