Daniel J.  Ruskamp
Mass of Christian Burial for Daniel J. Ruskamp age 64 of Dodge, NE will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church-Olean, rural Dodge, NE. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge, NE, with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday one hour prior to the service at Sacred Heart Catholic Church-Olean.

Danny passed away on November 27, 2016 at Dunklau Gardens in Fremont after a tough battle with cancer.

Danny was born on December 16, 1951 in West Point, NE to Ralph and Agnes (Kreikemeier) Ruskamp. He attended grade school at Sacred Heart Academy in Olean and was a graduate of Dodge High School in 1970. He enlisted in the Army Reserves, and was stationed at Fort Leonardwood, MO.

Danny married Carol Dostal on April 15, 1977 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church-Olean. The couple resided on the family farm northwest of Dodge, where they farmed and fed cattle. In 2010, the couple moved to an acreage just south of Dodge, where they enjoyed grilling, wildlife, and entertaining their family. He spent most of his time working on the farm and taking care of the livestock, including spoiling his pet dogs, Chester, Charlie, and Bubba. He also enjoyed music and spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

He was a faithful and devoted husband and father.

Danny is survived by his wife Carol of Dodge; daughter, Jody (Nick) Hatz of Elkhorn; daughter, Shannon (Brandon) Meyer of Eagle; son, Eric (Paula) Ruskamp of Dodge; and five grandchildren: Ella, Hannah, Jacob, Maddie, and Kensi. Parents, Ralph and Agnes Ruskamp of Dodge; brother, Gary Ruskamp of Dodge; and sister, Barb Kokrda of Lincoln.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Doreen Mlnarik.
