Obituary for Herman "Junior" Wiechman

Herman "Junior"  Wiechman
Funeral services for Herman "Junior" Wiechman age 85 of West Point, NE will be on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Point, NE. Interment will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery following the luncheon. Visitation will be on Thursday, from noon to 8:00 p.m., with the family present from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Minnick Funeral Home in West Point and will continue from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Junior passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point, NE.

Herman Victor Wiechman was born on March 31, 1931 at West Point, NE to Herman John and Olga (Kruse) Wiechman. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Point. Junior attended St. Paul Lutheran School. He helped his father on the family farm since he was 16 years old.

On October 1, 1950, he was united in marriage to Lois Hasenkamp at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Beemer, NE.

Herman “Junior” was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, was a member of its Lutheran Laymen’s League, and served the congregation as a trustee and elder. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing, and spending time with his family, especially his one and only grandchild.

Survivors include-
Wife- Lois Wiechman of West Point, NE
Sons- Don and Marlene (Sharman) Wiechman of West Point
Leon Wiechman of Lincoln, NE
Granddaughter- Emily and Aaron Knust of Lincoln, NE
And numerous nieces and nephews also survive him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandchild, brothers; Edward, Leroy and Henry, sisters; Verona Schlueter and Deloris Schultz, three sisters-in-law, and 2 brothers-in-law.
