Obituary for Beulah E. Wittrig

Funeral services for Beulah E. Wittrig age 94 of West Point, NE will be on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in West Point, NE. Interment will be in the Beemer Cemetery following the luncheon. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in West Point and will continue on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Beulah passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Premier Estates in West Point, NE.

Beulah Emma Wittrig was born on a farm northeast of Wisner, NE to Peter and Lillie (Schilling) Grieser on March 17,1922. She was baptized and confirmed in the Beemer Mennonite Church.

She attended Cuming County Rural School, District 19 and went on to graduate from Beemer High School in 1940. She received her B.A. In elementary education from Wayne State College. Beulah taught in Cuming County for 40 years. The last 20 years were spent teaching kindergarten in West Point.

Beulah married Allan A. Wittrig on June 3,1948 in the Beemer Mennonite Church. After marriage they moved to West Point. She was confirmed and became a member of St Pauls Lutheran Church on December 4, 1955.

Beulah was active in the church, she taught Sunday School and was active in Ladies Aid, Lutheran Women's Missionary League and the Quilters Group. She also volunteered regularly at the Blood Mobile, West Point Elementary School and Orphan Grain Train.

During her life Beulah was known for her love of cooking and baking. She enjoyed having family and friends over for a meal. Everyone always enjoyed the great food and company. Additionally she was an avid quilter. Many quilts were made for family and friends. Additionally she made quilts and donated them to Orphan Grain Train.

She was survived by: daughter Ann Mancini and her husband Ned Livornese; grandson Joseph Allan Livornese of Ellicott City, MD; her brother Leonard Grieser and his wife Betty of Wayland, IA; and her sister-in-law and cousin Rose (Grieser)Wittrig of Harrisonville,MO. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who were near and dear to her.

Beulah was preceded in death by; her husband, Allan, parents Peter and Lillie Grieser, brother Maurice and his wife Leila Grieser, sister Pearl and her husband Darrell Puckett, brother-in-law Lyle Wittrig, sister-in-law Lila and her husband Maurice Heidbrink and brother-in-law Kenneth Wittrig.

Memorials can be made to St Pauls Lutheran Church and St Pauls Lutheran School.
