Douglas J.  Feller
Memorial services for Douglas J. Feller age 88 of Beemer, NE will be held on Monday, October 31, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wisner, NE. Interment will be in the St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery with Military Honors by Beemer American Legion Post #159 and Beemer American Legion Riders. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner, NE. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.

Doug passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at the Norfolk Veterans Home.

Douglas John Feller, son of Bill and Clara Feller was born on October 10, 1928 in Dakota County on a farm approximately seven miles north of Emerson, Nebraska. There were eleven kids: Don (deceased in 2015), Bus (deceased in 1977) Jeanette (deceased in 2004) Jackie (died at age two), Doug, Florence, Barb (Babs), Joan, Mary Lou, Alice (still born) and Bob. In March of 1946, the family moved to a farm a couple miles south of Wisner.

In 1950 Doug married Bonnie Fleming. In 1951-1953 he was drafted into the Air Force and then returned to Wisner where he started farming. In 1955 Doug moved to a farm east of Wisner and started feeding cattle in the 60’s where he had one of the first custom feed yards in the Wisner area. In addition to feeding cattle he bought fed cattle for Roth Packing Company of Omaha in Cuming County area for twenty years. Doug loved cattle buying. He knew every cattle feeder living in Cuming County. Doug and Bonnie had three children John, Tom and Marilyn.

In 1979 Doug married Carolyn Ehrisman and resided east of Wisner with Carolyn’s four children Roger, Russ, Randy and Raymond. In the early 80’s Doug started Nebraska Ag Products grain elevator with cattle and reefer trucks.

As a brother, father and grandfather he was known for playing tricks and plenty of teasing. His uncontrollable laugh was contagious.

Survivors include wife Carolyn Feller of Beemer, NE, children John (Beth Ann) Feller of Beemer, NE, Tom (Helen) of Wisner, NE, and Marilyn (Gregg) Stevens of Minneapolis, MN; stepchildren Roger Ehrisman of Beemer, NE, Randall (Beth) Ehrisman of Beemer, NE, Russell (Barb) Ehrisman of Lincoln, NE, Raymond (Tricia) Ehrisman of Plano, TX; sisters Joan (Fran) Stalp of West Point, NE, Mary Lou (Larry) Beeson of Wisner, NE, Babs Albers of Beemer, NE, Florence Murphy of Lincoln, NE; brother Bob (Judy) Feller of Wisner, NE. Doug is blessed with 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by parents Bill and Clara Feller; brothers Bud, Don and Jackie; sisters Alice, and Jeanette.
