Mass of Christian Burial for Leonard Bracht age 84 of West Point, NE will be on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Point, with Fr. Steve Emanuel celebrating the mass. Interment will be in the St. Michael's Cemetery. Lunch will follow at Beed Transportation. Visitation will be on Thursday from noon to 5:00 p.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in West Point and continue at St. Mary's Catholic Church from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. There will be a public Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at the church. Minnick Funeral Home in West Point is handling the arrangements for the family. The family suggests that memorials be directed to the family for future designation in Leonard’s name.

Leonard passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point, NE.

Leonard Albert Bracht was born on December 14, 1931, rural West Point, NE to Anton and Elizabeth (Hunke) Bracht. He attended Guardian Angels School and graduated with the Class of 1950. After High School he helped work on the Interstate system and later worked for Hank Stalp Gravel in West Point.

On August 9, 1958, he was united in marriage to Marian Oligmueller at St. Boniface Catholic Church-Monterey. In 1966, Leonard purchased the farm east of town that they currently reside on. Leonard has been a resident of Oakland Heights for the last 2 1/2 years.

Leonard was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, a 3rd Degree Member of Knights of Columbus Council #2272, he served on the Board of Directors for the Coop for many years and the Cuming County Township Board as well. He was also a 4-H leader with the Eastside Livestock.

Daughter-Lori and Roger Cech of Howells, NE and family-
Cassandra and Carney Rolland and daughter Bristol, Chelsey and Nathan Dierks, Seth Cech and Madyson Cech
Daughter- Vicki Bracht and John O’Gorman of Waterloo, NE
