Obituary for Kenneth Glaubius

Funeral services for Kenneth Glaubius age 72 of West Point, NE will be on Monday, October 3, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Christ Lutheran Church in Wisner, NE. Interment will be in the Beemer Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the family present, at the Minnick Funeral Home in West Point and will continue on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Kenneth passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Creighton University Hospital in Omaha, NE.

Kenneth Leslie Glaubius was born February 27, 1944 to Leslie and Merna (Long) Glaubius in West Point, NE. He was baptized and confirmed at the Congregational Church in Beemer and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Wisner, NE, where he served on Church Council including President. Ken grew up near Beemer, attended rural school through the 8th grade and graduated from Beemer High School in 1962. He was active in 4-H and exhibited livestock at many places including Chicago, IL.

On July 19, 1964, he was united in marriage to Diane Bliemeister at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Pender, NE. They were the parents of three children Lori, Kevin, and Kara.

Ken was active in farming, raising Angus cattle on Blacktop Farms near Beemer, retiring to West Point in 2012. He was active in the NE Angus Association, where he served in several capacities including President. He managed the Open to the World Angus Bull Sale in Atkinson for many years and had many bull sales of his own. He was a 4-H leader of the Go-Getters 4-H club in Cuming County and served on the Cuming County 4-H Council. He loved to help at shows, calf sales and 4-H events.

He is survived by his wife Diane of West Point, daughter Lori (Steve) Repenning, Mitchell, SD; son Kevin (Julie) Glaubius, St. Joseph, MO; daughter Kara (Brach) Johnson, Columbus, NE; sister Debra Glaubius, Wisner, NE; and seven grandchildren Kelsey (Connor) Powell, Abby Repenning, Garret (Mikayla) Glaubius, Carissa and Hayden Glaubius, Dylan and Jaden Johnson.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Merna Glaubius, an infant brother Ronnie Dean, and grandparents Harvey and Laura Long and Theodore and Viva Glaubius.
