Mass of Christian Burial for Bob Neesen age 67 of West Point, NE will be on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Point, NE. Interment will be in the St. Michael's Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be on Friday from noon to 7:00 p.m., with a Public Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m., at the Minnick Funeral Home in West Point. The luncheon will be held at the Guardian Angels Cafeteria following mass. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be directed to the family for future designation in Bob's name.

Bob passed away on Monday, September 26, 2016 at his home.

Robert Leo Neesen was born on November 28, 1948 at West Point, NE to Leo and Margaret (Wiesen) Neesen. He attended St. Aloysius School through the 8th grade and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1967. Bob attended Chadron State College, where he played baseball for four years. In November of 1968, he married Connie Ritzdorf.

In May of 1970, Bob began employment with Stalp Gravel and continued working there until July of 2011.

Bob enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and especially his grouse hunting trips to western Nebraska, fishing, gardening, and going on walks with his dogs. He had played for the West Point Bombers and was to be inducted into the Nebraska Baseball Hall of Fame in 2017. Bob loved his grandchildren and also watching baseball, football and Nebraska Volleyball on the television.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother-Joseph.
