Debra Ann (Mahnke) Pruss, was born in West Point, NE on December 26, 1959. Her parents were Eugene and Lois (Tomka) Mahnke. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church.

Debbie attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic Grade school and was a graduate of Dodge Public High School in 1978. She went on to continue her education at Lincoln School of Commerce, in Lincoln, NE. Following her education, Debbie worked as a secretary for the State of Nebraska/Dept. of Rehabilitation. In addition to various positions at other businesses, Debbie concluded her job experience as Senior Office Associate for the City of Fremont, a job she held for 16 years.

Debbie married Rich Pruss, August 14, 1999 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Together they welcomed a son into their life, Colton, born March 11, 2003.

Among her many interests, Debbie loved the adventure of travel, especially when it meant seeing friends and family. It always put a smile on her face to know those most special to her were just a phone call, or a flight away. She was, by all measures, a world class shopper, which extended from New York City to local yard sales. Her enthusiasm for finding just the right handbag was noteworthy. She was also a world class friend with a network near and far, known to send cards for all occasions. As it turned out, many of her dearest friends were her own family members – Aunts and Uncles, Sister-in-laws, Cousins.

Most important to Debbie, was her unyielding love and devotion to family, especially for her son and husband. Together they enjoyed cookouts, Husker games, fishing trips and undivided family time.

Courageously battling Melanoma since 2014, Debbie is survived by her Husband Richard Pruss, son Colton, Mother and Stepfather, Lois and Gordon Pilmore and Mother-in-Law Doris Pruss, all of Dodge. Additionally, she is survived by her brother Randy (Jane) Mahnke, Jordan, Kaitlyn (and great niece Ava), Connor, Alexa of Fremont, NE. Also survived by brother Michael Mahnke (Kyle Nuse), Olive, Pepper of Johnson, VT.

She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Mahnke in 1986, Father-in-law Richard Pruss Sr. in 2013 and Grandparents.
