Funeral services for Jerry Griffith age 70 of Wisner, NE will be on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Christ Lutheran Church in Wisner, NE. Interment will be in the Wisner Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner and will continue on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Jerry passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016 in Mitchell, SD.

Jerry Douglas Griffith was born on February 9, 1946 at Norfolk, NE to David and Alice Marie (Albers) Griffith. He was baptized on March 24, 1946 at St. Paul’s German Evangelical Lutheran Church, north of Wisner and later confirmed on April 10, 1960 at Christ Lutheran Church in Wisner. Jerry graduated from Wisner High School in 1964.

On September 4, 1965, he was united in marriage to Carol Gust at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wayne, NE. Jerry and Carol farmed and lived north of Wisner, until moving into Wisner in 2000. Jerry was a Cattle Order Buyer, operated Griffith Livestock and Farms, and was a partner in L&G Trucking.

Jerry was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, and the Wisner Lions Club.

Son- Shane Griffith of Wisner, NE
Sister-Bev and Lee McKinney of Lakewood, CO
Sister-Maurine and Gary Bliemeister of Woodcliff, NE
Brother-Stanley and Lynnette Griffith of Salt Lake City, UT
Several nieces and nephews also survive Jerry.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-Bradley John Griffith at birth.
