Obituary for Forrest Hansen

Forrest Dean Hansen died on Tuesday April 19th at the Wisner Care Center. He was born November 2, 1928 in the family farm home to Peter and Lillian (Schulz) Hansen. On August 3, 1952, Forrest was united in marriage to Elaine Minds at the Christ Lutheran Church in Wisner. He lived his entire life on the farm northwest of Wisner until the death of his wife Elaine on August 25, 1994 when he moved to Wisner. He spent his life farming and especially took pride in his livestock. Spring was his favorite time of the year because of the birth of his little calves. He brought joy and laughter to people throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers Dale and Donald, daughter Susan Reppert and great granddaughter Emily Peterson.
He is survived by his daughter Luann (Rod) Rabe of Omaha, Debra Hansen of Wisner, son-in-law-Clay Reppert of West Point, grandchildren Katie (Tony) Peterson and great-grandson Max of West Point, Jamie (Dustin) Kaup and great-grandchildren Allie and Riley of Lyons, Matthew Reppert and fiancée Morgan Schultz of West Point, Morgan Rabe of West Palm Beach FL, Marshal Rabe of Omaha and brother Larry (Lorraine) Hansen of Norfolk.
He donated his body to research at UNMC and requested no service to be held. A celebration of his life will be held Sunday April 24, 2016 at The Lodge in Wisner from 2-5pm. In lieu of flowers please direct memorials to the family or the charity of your choice. The family would especially like to thank the staff at the Wisner Care Center for the incredible care they provided to dad and the family.
