Funeral services for Beverly Rose (Osmera) Ruskamp, 70, a resident of Dodge will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2016 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery following the meal. The family will greet friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., with a prayer service to be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday March 17 2016 also at St. Wenceslaus.
Bev passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2016 at St Francis Memorial Hospital, West Point, NE. Bev was born December 31st 1945 in Blair, NE to Fred and Ann Osmera. She grew up on the family farm near Tekamah, NE and graduated from Tekamah High School in 1964. She then moved along with her family to Fremont, NE where she met Larry Ruskamp. Larry and Bev were married on June 8th, 1968 at St. Patrick’s Church in Fremont, NE. Larry and Bev moved to Dodge, NE in 1974 where they currently reside.
Bev worked at the Parkview Nursing Home in Dodge as activities director until she opened her own in home daycare. After 15 years as a daycare provider, she worked as a home health caregiver and had a catering business specializing in hors-d’oeuvres on the side. She had many passions in her life such as camping, cooking, and socializing with friends. Her biggest passion was her 4 grandchildren and she loved spending time with them.
Bev is survived by her husband of 47 years Larry, sons Rob (Leanne) and children Boden and Kahne of Beatrice, and Ryan (Laura) and children Addison and Easton of Dodge.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Dawn, and sister Sharon.
