Funeral services for Marjorie Hass age 90 of West Point, NE will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in West Point, NE. There will be a VFW Auxiliary Tribute by West Point VFW Auxiliary Post #4912 at the start of the service at church. Interment will be in the St. Matthew's Lutheran Cemetery, rural Wisner following the luncheon. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the family present, at the Minnick Funeral Home in West Point and will continue on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Marjorie passed away on Monday, March 14, 2016 at the Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, NE.

Marjorie Elizabeth Hass was born on February 4, 1926 at Fremont, NE to Carl and Elise (Burgenger) Lembke. She was baptized on February 9, 1926 at home and later confirmed on March 19, 1940 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. Marjorie attended school in Fremont and graduated from Fremont High School in 1944. She worked as a secretary following graduation.

On December 28, 1947, she was united in marriage to LaVern Hass at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont, NE. The couple lived in Fremont for a short time and moved to Wisner, after building a new home. In 1956, the family moved to the family farm southwest of Wisner. In 2003, the couple moved to West Point, NE.

Marjorie was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and active in Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the West Point VFW Auxiliary #4912 and a former member of Wisner VFW Auxiliary #5767 in Wisner, where she served as a judge for its Voice of Democracy contest for several years. Marjorie was an active supporter of 4-H and was an assistant leader for the Peppy Peppers 4-H Club for a number of years, she belonged to a Flower and Garden Club and also volunteered for the Cuming Co. Historical Society.

Marjorie was an avid gardener, and she and LaVern enjoyed square dancing, camping and traveling. In her later years she began crocheting padded hangers. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Daughter-Linda and Jack Myers of Middleville, MI and family-
Nick and Deb Pellegrini and children-Owen, twins Liam & Lucas, and Gavin
Daughter- Diane Mischnicki of Lincoln, NE and daughter-
Laura Mischnicki
Son-Roger and Barb Hass of Wisner, NE and family-
Christine Hass and Brian Hass
Son-in-law-Brian Schuett of Highlands Ranch, CO

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, daughter-Shirley Schuett, and son-in-law-William Mischnicki.
