Funeral services for Margaret Janecek age 96 of Dodge, NE will be on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge. Interment will be in the Bohemian National Cemetery near Dodge. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the church. There will be a Christian Mothers Rosary at 3:00 p.m. and a public vigil service at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the church. Minnick Funeral Chapel in Dodge is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Janecek passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at the St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point, NE.

Margaret Florence Janecek was born March 5, 1919 at Tyndall, SD to Ed and Agnes (Turek) Hanzel. She was the oldest of seven children. She attended District 41 and graduated from Dodge High School in 1936. She attended Midland College in Fremont, NE and taught school in Cuming and Colfax Counties before her marriage.

Margaret was united in marriage to Eldon Janecek on June 1, 1943 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge, NE. They farmed in Cuming County their entire married life. Eldon and Margaret worked together on the farm. Margaret lived on the home place until moving to Parkview Home, in Dodge.

Margaret was a member of St. Wenceslaus Church and Christian Mothers.

Sister-Audrey Schulze of Dodge, NE
Brother-Richard (Judy) Hanzel of Indianapolis, IN
Also several nieces and nephews survive her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon of 56 years on April 10, 1999; her parents; three brothers, John (Betty) Hanzel, Ed (Rose) Hanzel, and Frank (Mary) Hanzel; one sister, Frances (Nick) Wackel and one great grandchild, Kendra.
