Funeral services for Obert Aurich age 92 of Beemer, NE will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Zion-St. John Lutheran Church, rural Wisner, NE. Interment will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Minnick Funeral Home in Beemer, NE and will continue on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. till service time at the church.

Obert passed away on Friday, January 2, 2015 at the St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point, NE.

Obert Adolph Aurich was born on January 18, 1922 at Gurley, NE to Elmer and Martha (Dahlkoetter) Aurich. He was baptized on February 5, 1922 in Gurley and later confirmed on March 21, 1937 at First Trinity Lutheran Church, Altona, NE. Obert attended rural school through the 8th grade and later received an Honorary High School Diploma from Beemer High School. Obert served in the United States Army from May 9, 1945 to December 9, 1946 during World War II. He returned to the family farm southwest of Beemer. On February 2, 1950, he was united in marriage to Delilah Schwartz at St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Beemer. Obert farmed and raised livestock on that same farm until December 31, 2013, when he entered Colonial Haven in Beemer, NE.

Obert was a member of Zion-St. John Lutheran Church, rural Wisner, where he held various offices, was a member of the Lutheran Laymen’s League and was a member of Beemer American Legion Post #159. He also enjoyed belonging to numerous card clubs.

Sister-in-law-Luetta Fullner of Beemer, NE

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife-Delilah on July 11, 2013, brothers-in-law-Verlyn Wegner and Harlan Fullner, and sistesr-in-law-Dorothy Aurich and Dorine Schulz.
