Obituary for Doris Angeline Vig (Dover)

Funeral services for Doris A. Vig age 90 of Pilger, NE will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner, NE. Interment will be in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Madison, NE. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and will continue on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service, both at the funeral home.

Doris passed away quietly on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the Heritage of Bel Air Nursing Home in Norfolk, NE.

Doris Angeline (Dover) Vig was the daughter of Harlow Dean Dover and Evelyn Verona Gerling and the great granddaughter of the Madison pioneering family of James and Jane Dover. She was born in Madison on the farm on October 25, 1924. She attended school in Madison. On August 31, 1943, she married Don Monroe Lyons in Boise, Ada Co. Idaho. They returned to Omaha, NE, where they had four children. She married LeRoy T. Vig in 1960 and moved to Norfolk, NE. They moved to Pilger in 1966 and have resided there since. Doris always worked hard and always did her best. She loved animals and gardening. She leaves behind to mourn, her husband LeRoy of Pilger; daughters, Linda Wiedman (Charles) of Blanco, TX, Sandra Baumert (Dave) of Marshall, MO, and Stacia Stark of Norfolk, NE; 12 grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; brother Harlow Dover (Anita) of Lincoln, NE, nieces and nephews and friends in Pilger. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Gloria Uphoff, son Ronald Lyons, and first husband Don Lyons.
