Obituary for Ann Ott

Mass of Christian Burial for Ann Ott age 76 of Beemer, NE will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Beemer. Interment will be in the Beemer Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and will continue on Wednesday one hour prior to service time at the church. There will be an Altar Society Rosary at 3:00 p.m. and a Public Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m. both on Tuesday at the church.

Ann passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at her home.

Anna Marie (Downey) Ott. Born 2-9-1938 at Wisner to Clarence and Theresa Downey. Baptized and Confirmed at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Wisner. Graduated from Wisner High School in 1955. Taught one year at Cuming county rural District 40. On August 6th, 1957 married Dean Kathol at St. Joseph's Church in Wisner. They had a son Dana and a daughter Jodi. Dean passed away in 1962. In April, 1968 she married Glenn Ott at Beemer. They had a son Joel and a daughter Andrea. Throughout the years she was employed at Citizens National Bank and Wartig Veterinary clinic in Wisner and for many years worked for Doescher Transfer and 27 years at Country Welding as a book keeper. Ann was a very dedicated and efficient employee wherever she worked. She was a member of Holy Cross Church at Beemer and the Holy Cross Altar Society. Ann enjoyed caring for her many flower gardens, traveling with her husband, being with her grandchildren and faithfully attended their many activities. She never missed an opportunity to reach out to friends and family whether they were celebrating or struggling. Ann made sure everyone had a card and gift for their special day. She enjoyed any sort of music, singing, dancing, painting and ceramics.

Ann is preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Margaret Rabe and Kathy Downey, Brother Craig, first husband Dean and grandchild Nathanial Kathol. She is survived by husband Glenn of Beemer, children Dana Kathol (friend Alice) of Denver, CO., Jodi (Patrick) Ronspies of Norfolk, Joel Ott (friend Kelli) of The Colony, Texas and Andrea (Gary) Dupuy of Frisco, Texas. Grandchildren: Tim, Cory and Jake Kathol; Joshua and Aaron (Theo) Ott; Tori and Wade Ronspies and Joelle and Joseph Dupuy. Also Great grandchildren: Trenton, Brendon, Dillon, Christian and Taylor Kathol and Jaysa and Atlas Ott. Brothers: Jim Downey, Norfolk; Curt (Mary) Downey, Waverly, Bryan (Mary) Downey of Fremont and many nieces and nephews. Also, her loving aunts Bette Paulsen, Adeline Klein, Rosalie Buckman, Helen and Mary Ann Brandl.
