Memorial services for Mary Ann Tomrdle age 82 of Wisner, NE formerly of Wayne, NE will be on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at the Minnick Funeral Home in West Point, NE. Burial of the cremains will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the chapel.

Mary Ann passed away on Monday, August 20, 2012 at the Wisner Care Center.

Mary Ann (Batenhorst) Tomrdle was born July 2, 1930 at rural West Point, NE to Ben and Elizabeth (Hunke) Batenhorst. She attended and graduated from Guardian Angels High School in 1948. On October 9, 1952, she was united in marriage to John “Jack” Tomrdle at West Point, NE. The couple moved to Wayne in 1960, where Mary Ann worked in the meat department at Safeway and later was the bookkeeper for Kuhn’s Drapery which they owned. After selling the drapery business the couple lived on a farm south of Wisner and later moved to Beemer, NE. The couple enjoyed spending the winter months in Sun City, AZ.

Mary Ann liked flower gardening, traveling and playing cards.

Sister-in-law-Lorraine Batenhorst of Blair, NE

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, husband-Jack, brothers-Bruno and Ed Batenhorst, and a sisters-Wilma Lane.
