Obituary for Donna Uher

Funeral Mass for Donna Uher age 77 of Omaha, formerly of Dodge, will be held on Monday, April 30, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge, NE. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:30 to 8 p.m. at the church with a public vigil service at 7 p.m. Minnick Funeral Chapel of Dodge is in charge of arrangements.

Donna passed away on Monday, April 23, 2012 at Fountain View Independent Living Community in Omaha, NE.

Donna was born on December 21, 1934 in West Point, NE to Henry and Olga (Schmuecker) Harstick. She attended and graduated from Guardian Angels Catholic High School in 1952. In September of 1952, she married Robert Uher and they were married for 55 years when Robert passed away in 2007.

Donna was a homemaker on the farm south of Dodge for 30 years when she and Robert left the farm to pursue other job opportunities. They managed apartments in Baton Rouge, LA, Fort Worth, TX, West Des Moines, IA and then back to Omaha. In 1996, they moved to Columbus, NE.

For the past five years Donna has lived at Fountain View Independent Living Community where she had many friends. She played bingo two or three times a week, attended rosary and mass every Saturday. She also played memory games, dominos, and took daily walks with friends. She loved the idea of not having to cook and attending breakfast, lunch and dinner with her friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents-Henry and Olga Harstick, husband-Robert J. Uher, and a grandson-Matthew Uher.

Survivors include: sons-Larry and Bonnie Uher of Pierce, NE, Daniel and Rhonda Uher of Omaha, NE, and Glen and Ginger Uher of Madison, NE; one granddaughter-Angela Uher-Pittman of Australia, and three grandsons-Ryan Uher of Oceanside, CA, Kyle Uher of Tempe, AZ, and Thomas Uher of Pierce, NE; and a brother- Willard and Jan Harstick of West Point, NE.
